Itinerary
Departing from Marrakech in the morning you will take the winding road past the gorge of Moulay Brahim, crossing through the Berber village of Asni. Your guide will take you to the less frequented places where you can witness the daily life of the Berber people. Behold as you ascend the Tizi n’Test cutting right through the heart of the Atlas Mountains. Soon the road will take you to the mountainside picturesque village of Imlil. Imilil lies at the base of Mount Toubkal, the highest summit in North Africa, and is the base camp for many hiking & walking routes, as well as the summit climb.
The days activities are yours to choose from – take a guided tour through the Kasbah, or maybe explore some of the surrounding trails and take in the spectacular scenery. Being at a higher altitude, Imlil is a great day trip to escape the heated dusty streets of Marrakech and breath in some fresh mountain air. If you are lucky enough to visit on a Saturday, you can visit the Asni Berber Market. You guide will then take you the a local house or restaurant to enjoy some lunch. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to explore more of Imlil. Maybe you’d like to take a short hike to savour more of the amazing mount side, or wander around the souks to haggle for a bargain.
You will be driven back to Marrakech in the late afternoon.
